The Neo Council has introduced a minimum viable product (MVP) for a new governance portal aimed at enhancing transparency and engagement among NEO and bNEO token holders. This initiative emerged from discussions held at the Centre Point 2 event in Singapore earlier this year, marking a significant step towards decentralizing decision-making within the network.
The governance portal is designed to provide a public forum where eligible community members can engage in discussions about proposals, express their opinions, and witness the decision-making processes of the Council in a more structured manner. Initially developed by the team at Flamingo Finance, the portal will continue to evolve through contributions from the entire Council.
Currently, only Council members have the authority to create proposals. However, all eligible community members can participate by commenting and voting based on their token weight, which encourages broader community involvement in governance.
In another noteworthy development, COZ has joined forces with Iron Studios, a Brazilian manufacturer of pop culture collectibles. This collaboration features a line of officially licensed statues that utilize self-custodial blockchain technology for ownership verification. The partnership made its debut at the CCXP25 convention in São Paulo, showcasing popular characters such as Batman, Iron Man, and Darth Vader. The statues are accompanied by Non-Fungible Item (NFI) certificates minted on the Neo N3 blockchain, ensuring proof of ownership and facilitating pre-sale redemption.
Additionally, Flamingo Finance hosted a livestream to introduce FLM.FUN, a prediction market tailored for live streamers. The platform reported that a total of 652,863 FLOCKS tokens were purchased and subsequently burned, demonstrating active engagement from the community.
The Neo Dashboard has announced Christmas rewards for holders of the Master Strategist Joker NFT. Minting a Joker NFT unlocks an exclusive Santa Dashboard leader, which provides users with random usable items to enhance gameplay.
Furthermore, Neo Red Pill launched a special St. Nicholas Day event, offering participants a chance to win substantial NRP tokens, along with themed merchandise and NEO tokens. To qualify for the draw, users were required to retweet the announcement and engage with the Neo Red Pill accounts on social media.
On the developer front, Neo SPCC released its bi-monthly update, detailing advancements in NeoGo v0.114.0, MainNet consensus nodes, and improvements to NeoFS. This update also included information on the SpoonOS hackathon workshop and the introduction of demo erasure coding support.
In community engagement, NNT hosted the 77th episode of Crypto Coffee and Blockchain Beer Spaces, discussing key insights from the Ethereum Devconnect event and the current landscape for alternative Layer 1 networks.
