Ondo Finance, a leader in the tokenization of real-world assets, has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining regulatory approval from the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA). This authorization enables Ondo to provide tokenized stocks and ETFs to a vast pool of investors across the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). The approval opens access to over 500 million potential investors in 30 nations, allowing them to trade U.S. stocks and ETFs directly on the blockchain.
This regulatory approval is part of a recognized European passporting system, ensuring that Ondo can operate seamlessly within a unified European framework while adhering to investor protection regulations. With more than $315 million in total value locked and over $1 billion traded since launching its Global Markets in September 2025, Ondo continues to set benchmarks for integrating traditional finance with blockchain technology.
The timing of this announcement coincides with Ondo”s recent partnership with BX Digital, aimed at introducing Europe”s inaugural set of tokenized stocks and ETFs to regulated markets. This collaboration has launched tokenized versions of traditional financial instruments, which include over 100 assets such as Ondo”s U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin, short-term U.S. government bonds, a tokenized S&P 500, and various ETFs from BlackRock/iShares. Major stocks like Tesla, NVIDIA, Apple, and Coca-Cola are also part of this new offering.
The rise of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) is evident, with the market witnessing a surge of $19 billion this year alone, reaching a total of $55.94 billion, primarily driven by private credit, as reported by data from Coingecko. Since its launch, Ondo Finance has achieved a total value locked of $364 million and aims to expand its offerings to over 1,000 tokenized assets by the conclusion of 2025.
This regulatory approval is pivotal, as it provides millions of European investors with regulated and simplified access to global markets. By facilitating the tokenization of stocks and ETFs, Ondo allows for continuous trading of traditional assets on the blockchain, fundamentally enhancing the accessibility of investment opportunities. Furthermore, it establishes a legal framework that demonstrates how digital finance can align with stringent European regulations.
