Uniswap and Revolut Join Forces to Simplify Crypto Purchases

Uniswap partners with Revolut to streamline crypto purchases across 28 countries.

Uniswap Labs has announced a significant partnership with Revolut, aimed at enhancing the user experience for cryptocurrency purchases. This collaboration integrates a seamless crypto onramp within the Uniswap Web App and Wallet, facilitating easier access to digital assets for users across 28 countries.

The integration enables users to purchase cryptocurrencies effortlessly using their Revolut account balance or linked debit cards. This partnership is a strategic step towards simplifying the entry point for users new to the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Revolut, a leading financial technology platform, supports a variety of fiat currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and JPY. The onramp service is currently available to users in 26 European nations, allowing for the acquisition of popular cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC) on the Ethereum network, and Polygon (POL). However, it is worth noting that customers in Hungary and the UK will not have access to this service.

This integration presents several advantages: users incur no additional fees from Revolut beyond standard network fees, and existing customers can make quick and simple purchases without undergoing further identity verification. From within Uniswap“s platforms, users can access over 40 different tokens and utilize flexible payment methods including Revolut Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and traditional debit or credit cards.

Purchasing cryptocurrencies through the Revolut onramp is designed to be user-friendly. The process involves:

  • Accessing the Uniswap Wallet or Web App and tapping “Buy”.
  • Selecting the cryptocurrency intended for purchase.
  • Entering the desired amount for purchase.
  • Choosing “Revolut” as the payment method.
  • Completing the onramp process with Revolut.
  • Confirming transaction details.
  • Receiving the purchased crypto directly into their wallet.

While the current integration focuses solely on onramp functionality, Uniswap users have the option to explore other providers for selling cryptocurrencies back to fiat within its ecosystem.

The addition of Revolut to Uniswap“s existing range of onramp options—which includes platforms like Robinhood, Transak, and MoonPay—underscores the commitment to providing users with greater flexibility and choices in accessing decentralized finance (DeFi) tools.

Users interested in leveraging these new features can download the Uniswap Wallet on iOS or Android, or connect to the Uniswap Web App via their web browser. Uniswap Labs continues to enhance its offerings, ensuring users have optimal access to the expanding DeFi landscape, thereby solidifying its status as a leading decentralized exchange platform.
