Tesla has seen a slight uptick in its stock price, closing at $417.44 on February 13, following the launch of its Grok AI assistant in nine European markets. This rollout comes through software update 2026.2.6, which is available at no cost to eligible vehicles.
The new AI features are now accessible in the UK, Germany, France, and several other countries, expanding Tesla”s technological footprint in Europe. The Grok AI integrates with vehicles equipped with AMD Ryzen processors from 2021 onwards, specifically in the Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and the Cybertruck. Older models utilizing Intel processors are not compatible due to hardware limitations.
This AI assistant enables drivers to navigate using natural language commands, allowing for a more conversational interaction with their vehicles. For instance, users can inquire about nearby cafes or add grocery stops to their routes, enhancing the driving experience significantly.
To fully utilize the Grok AI”s capabilities, drivers must maintain a Premium Connectivity subscription. This subscription is essential for cloud-based queries, live updates, and the dynamic responses that the AI provides. With this model, Tesla continues to explore new revenue streams through software features and subscription services.
Three personality modes are available with the assistant: Assistant, Storyteller, and Unhinged. However, drivers must activate Assistant mode to leverage the advanced navigation features, which can be done via the touchscreen or the right scroll wheel.
In terms of compliance, Tesla has structured the Grok AI under a Beta designation, adhering to the EU AI Act and GDPR regulations. The company is collecting real-world user feedback from markets with high electric vehicle adoption rates, which will aid in refining the system.
With a market capitalization exceeding $1.3 trillion, Tesla is strategically positioning Grok as a recurring revenue source while transforming vehicles into comprehensive AI computing platforms rather than mere transportation devices. As investors assess the potential impact of AI integration on Tesla”s subscription model, the successful deployment across nine European nations stands as a significant milestone.
The Grok AI update represents a substantial upgrade over traditional voice recognition systems. The powerful AMD Ryzen units enhance the processing speed necessary for complex AI models, marking a notable evolution in the driving experience.
As Tesla continues to innovate, the Grok AI assistant”s ability to add or edit destinations and serve as a guide will likely attract further interest from consumers in the European market.
