Industry commentator Vincent Scott has publicly criticized the unrealistic projections surrounding XRP, arguing that those promoting such forecasts often benefit from increased engagement while evading accountability. In a recent post on X, Scott highlighted a viral trend among XRP influencers who draw attention through sensational claims.
These claims frequently suggest that holding a modest amount of XRP could lead to extraordinary financial gains. Scott specifically pointed out an assertion that simply possessing 3,500 XRP could make investors millionaires by February 2, 2026. He underscored how these sensational statements can attract significant engagement, despite lacking any factual basis.
To illustrate his point, Scott mentioned that if he were to make such an exaggerated prediction, he could easily garner a million likes, 350,000 new followers, and 10,000 subscribers. He emphasized that this kind of engagement is often achieved without any repercussions when the forecasts ultimately fall short. Scott believes that the popularity of these claims demonstrates the potential for misleading audiences and the importance of maintaining integrity in communications.
Exaggerated forecasts regarding XRP have indeed become a common occurrence within the community. Many influencers utilize these tactics to enhance their visibility and engagement. Earlier this year, Bitcoin advocate Pumpius claimed that early investors in XRP would soon attain “generational wealth,” enabling them to retire their entire families. Despite the boldness of such predictions, few have publicly challenged their feasibility.
As is often the case, many of these forecasts fail to materialize. For instance, in September, XRP commentator Kenny Nguyen predicted that several new millionaires would emerge by October, following the approval of multiple spot XRP ETFs. However, since the U.S. began trading XRP ETFs in November, the token”s price has experienced a notable decline, dropping from $2.52 to $1.80 before a brief recovery above $2.
The prediction that 3,500 XRP could create millionaires would necessitate a staggering rise in the token”s price to $286 by February 2, 2026. This represents an extraordinary 14,058% increase from its current price of $2.02. While future possibilities cannot be dismissed, the aggressive eight-week timeline makes such a prediction appear highly unrealistic.
